Rules
Individual players must be registered with the Retrocade Magazine forums which is where this competition will be hosted.
Games can be played on either arcade and/or MAME platforms using the ROM and dip switch settings documented per game. No console compilations discs or cartridges.
Absolutely no continues.
Screenshots/photos are mandatory. Photos of arcade monitors must display the screen in its entirety.
Submissions should include Game, Score, Player's Name & a screenshot/photo of the score.
Do not submit scores which you have achieved before the beginning of the contest.
If you believe that you can roll a score, you should stream that attempt and post a link to the stream in your post with the same information above. Additionally, you should state on camera the date the score it was achieved, your user ID on these forums, your name and the final score.
Streaming is optional.
INP file attachments are optional to show off your game play.
Bottomline for verification: screenshots/photographs. This is slightly beyond score verification from back in the day and this site strives to honor that tradition!
Tournament overall scoring will be the average of the player's top 6 percentage scores. You must play a minimum of 6 titles to qualify in the tournament overall standings.
Score submissions should be posted to the tournament's score submissions thread.
Tournament results will be published in vol 1 issue 4 of Retrocade Magazine this fall.
If I suspect that someone is cheating, I reserve the right to request a live video performance or INP file for validation
Sandbag Rules - NEW
There will be threshold scores placed on all titles in the tournament. Threshold scores are minimum scores you must exceed in order to place a score for that title. For example, if Pac-Man has a threshold score of 20,000, you must submit a score that is greater than 20,000.
You must have a minimum of 6 qualifying scores 24 hours prior to the conclusion of the competition (7 PM EDT, Saturday, August 11) to qualify for the overall tournament standings.
To curtail sandbagging (when a player does not post scores until the dying minutes of the tournament) you may only submit scores on 2 unique titles in the last 24 hours of competition and only for titles where you have previously submitted a score. You may submit as many scores as you like for those 2 titles.
Tiebreakers
In the event of a tie for first place, whomever has the most 100% scores wins outright.
If there is a tie for the number of 100% scores, then the highest average % spread between their 1st place scores and 2nd place scores will be used.
